Mark Howlin

Physiotherapist | Sports Injury | Dry Needling | Post operative Rehabilitation | Chronic Pain

Mark is an Associate Physiotherapist at Physio K in Bondi Junction, Sydney, specialising in musculoskeletal physiotherapy, sports injuries, and rehabilitation.

Originally from Ireland, Mark completed a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Therapy and Training at Dublin City University, followed by a Master of Physiotherapy at University College Dublin. He has worked in private practice since graduating, treating a wide range of musculoskeletal and sporting conditions.

Mark has a particular interest in sports injury physiotherapy and return to sport rehabilitation. He regularly treats acute injuries such as hamstring strains, calf and quadriceps injuries, and ankle and knee sprains, as well as overuse conditions including Achilles tendinopathy, shin splints, and anterior knee pain.

He also treats post operative rehabilitation cases and chronic pain presentations, helping patients restore strength, confidence, and long term function.

His treatment approach combines hands on therapy, dry needling, exercise based rehabilitation, and patient education. Every assessment begins with a detailed examination to identify the underlying cause of symptoms, followed by a clear diagnosis and structured treatment plan.

A strong focus of Mark’s care is education and self management. He ensures patients understand their injury, recovery timeline, and how to reduce the risk of recurrence, particularly when returning to sport or training.

Mark has completed additional dry needling training in both Ireland and Sydney, which he integrates into treatment where appropriate alongside progressive exercise programming.

He has experience working with athletes and active individuals across soccer, rugby, Gaelic football, and hurling, as well as gym and recreational running populations.

Patients often describe Mark as calm, approachable, and thorough, with a clear focus on guiding people from pain back to full function.

Outside the clinic, Mark stays active through gym training, running, and tennis. He also enjoys live sport, music, comedy, and spending time at the beach.

If you are looking for a physiotherapist in Bondi Junction or the Eastern Suburbs of Sydney for sports injuries, rehabilitation, or dry needling, Mark provides clear diagnosis, structured rehab, and a practical path back to full activity.
